ABOUT

Legendary live music venue that's seen some of the biggest names in music grace it's stage. The Fleece opened in 1982, and was saved from closure when taken over by it's current management in 2010. Since then it's gone through a complete (and continuous) refurbishment, and is arguably one of the biggest stages local bands can play in Bristol. With touring-grade facilities, this is a fantastic space for local acts to hone their skills on their way to the national tour circuit.

WHAT GIGS THEY OFFER AND HOW TO GET A SHOW

The Fleece run lots of local events throughout the year but their waiting list can get get pretty long. You'll need to contact Shirlee (contact details below) as she runs the local level shows, but please bare in mind she gets very busy! The events are seasonal, so during tour season it can be very difficult to get a slot - there is normally more availability during January and over the summer holidays / festival season. Bands are paid dependant on ticket sales - for more information contact the venue.

The Fleece run regular "Scouting Sessions" looking for new acts, with the best / hardest working acts being put forward for their weekend and support slot dates. Some of the other regular events featured at the Fleece are their renowned "Acoustic All Dayers", previously hosting the likes of George Ezra, and a fairly new event series called "The Takeover", giving musicians who are under 18 the chance to play at a proper music venue.

Please note: The Fleece only book bands from the South West for their local events.

WHO TO CONTACT

The best person to speak to regarding bookings for local bands is Shirlee Calvert - you can email her on gig@thefleece.co.uk.

For external hire enquiries speak to Chris Sharp via info@thefleece.co.uk. It's worth mentioning that the Fleece doesn't usually hire out the venue for local events.

For more info, visit the Fleece's website.

WHAT TO SEND TO THEM

When contacting the Fleece, please send your band name, genre, location and a link to your music to shirlee@thefleece.co.uk.

If you have a specific event in mind, such as The Takeover (for under-18's) or the Acoustic All Dayer series, please include this in your email.
